Please join us in welcoming Holly Wachter to Tangram! Holly is joining the Flooring team as a Customer Service Representative, jumping back into the professional game after 11 years of being a full time mom and part time bartender. In her free time, find this adventurer backpacking through new areas, cooking traditional Italian meals or enjoying her new pool. We are so excited to have her learn and grow here at Tangram— her enthusiasm and determination make her an awesome fit for the team. Welcome, Holly, we’re happy to have you!
1. Name, title?
Holly Wachter, Customer Service Representative
2. Where is your hometown?
I was born in Ohio, but moved to York, PA when I was 12 years old so I consider that my hometown. I moved to CA in 2002.
3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?
For the past 11 years I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, while bartending part time. Prior to that I was at Fite Development where I was a Construction Coordinator.
4. What is something your recently crossed off your bucket list?
I’ve always wanted a swimming pool in my backyard! Two years ago that became a reality, complete with a water slide and swim up bar….
5. How would you describe your favorite food to someone who’s never had it before?
It’s called Cappelletti. My father’s mother’s side of the family is Italian and the recipe goes way back. It’s an Italian soup made in a chicken-like broth with homemade dough balls wrapped around a paste made out of crackers, eggs, gizzards, liver and spices. Everyone I explain it to doesn’t even want to try it! My husband doesn’t like it! Ha! More for me!
6. If you could have lunch with someone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Zac Efron. Yes, I know I’m old enough to be his mom, but come on, he is so adorable! Although lunch probably wouldn’t be a good idea because I would NOT be able to eat a thing.
7. What are you most looking forward to in your new role at Tangram?
The challenge and the opportunity to grow professionally. Professional development is something that has been put on the back burner for me, however it has always remained important. I’m so happy to be back in the game! Put me in Coach…..I’m ready to play!
8. What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
My husband and I backpacked into Yosemite (by ourselves, not in a “campground”). We climbed Half Dome. We scared bears 10 feet away from our tent by banging pots and pans (well I did that while my husband was trying to get the camera out to take pictures). We answered someone’s call for help in the middle of the night. There was a forest fire down below. I stayed in the tent and rocked back and forth crying while my husband followed this stranger to the fire and helped extinguish it all night long. And after all that, I let him talk me into backpacking in Alaska!
9. How many donuts are you capable of eating in one sitting?
If they are Dunkin Donuts, zero! (My husband works for Starbucks). Any other kind, I can handle one.
10. What do you hope to bring to the Tangram team?
I’m a team player. I will bring a positive attitude, passion, enthusiasm and determination to the Tangram team!
