Please join us in welcoming Emily Fretland to Tangram! Emily will be joining the Human Resources team. She graduated in 2015 from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Business before going on to work at her previous HR position with an aerospace manufacturing and tech company in Seattle. Like a true Washingtonian, she bleeds Seahawk green and blue. In addition, Emily doesn’t shy from a challenge, proven by her dedication to a marathon and her willingness to try mysterious dishes in Copenhagen. We are thrilled to welcome her creative and fun personality here at Tangram. Welcome to the family, Emily, we’re happy to have you!
1. Name, title?
Emily (Fretland) Forsyth, HR Generalist (I recently got married and haven’t changed my name yet…)
2. Where is your hometown?
Mukilteo, WA
3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?
I previously worked for GM Nameplate, an aerospace manufacturing and tech company in Seattle as an HR Coordinator.
4. What is a fun fact about yourself?
I once ran a marathon with the stomach flu (the Seahawks won the Super Bowl the same day!!!)
5. If you were trapped on an island which three things would you want to have with you and why?
A never-ending book (for entertainment), some all-natural hot dogs (I feel like they would stay good the longest and fill me up), and a tent (so the animals couldn’t get to me at night)
6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Most recently, pickled trout in Copenhagen
7. What are you most looking forward to in your new role at Tangram?
Getting to know everyone and tackling some really cool projects to add value to the Tangram team culture!
8. What is your go-to Karaoke song and why?
No One by Alicia Keys (But only if ‘Karaoke’ means singing in the car with my sister)
9. You’re throwing a party, what would be the theme and who would be the guest of honor?
Is charcuterie, cheese and wine a party theme? The guest of honor would have to be Michael Scott from The Office (I’ve watched the whole show at least 6 times- I would also be fine with Jim, Dwight or Pam)
10. What do you hope to bring to the Tangram team?
I hope to help create a creative, fun and inviting environment for our current and future employees!
