Press Release: Tangram Takes Home REmmy Award

Tangram Wins Award for Most Innovative Office

Los Angeles, Calif. – Tangram has been honored with a 2016 REmmy Award for Most Innovative Project in the less than 50,000 square foot category for the remodel of their Santa Fe Springs Headquarters. The REmmy Awards is a ceremony organized by CoreNet each year recognizing the best of the best in the commercial real estate industry.

Tangram’s Headquarters, completed in late April 2016, was a collaborative project between Tangram, MOZU and Holwick Constructors. As a company specializing in commercial interiors, Tangram needed an updated space that incorporated the most cutting edge workplace trends. The headquarters also serves as a showroom for the many markets they service. Susie Tashiro, of MOZU, describes the design process, “Tangram services Southern California. The main design idea represents a duality to capture the energy and color in our vibrant landscape. Southern California is famous for its sunny weather and dramatic Pacific Coastline, but we are a community where one enjoys the outdoors as much as the indoors. The design is inspired by the unique lifestyle that is made possible because of our location, surrounded by beaches, mountains, lakes and deserts.”

Nick Meter, who headed the project for Tangram says, “Now when people ask, ‘What is Tangram?’, we can actually show them.  This space is a Tangram, puzzle pieces in forms of business units, clients, vendors and employees, fitting together to create this beautiful space.” The project showcases products from various manufacturers including Steelcase, Buzzispace and Vitra as well as custom workstations from Tangram Studio. Additionally, Tangram Flooring and Tangram Technology sourced and installed all flooring applications and A/V systems.

One of the ways Tangram measures the success of any project is the ability to see a client’s culture, brand and values fully integrated into the way they work. In their new headquarters, the Tangram culture is not only present, but obvious; the brand is represented clearly through the products in the space, the people that work there and the energy that can be felt all throughout the building.
