Tangram Partners With Once Upon A Room to Customize Children’s Hospital Rooms
Tangram, a curator of highly creative commercial interior environments headquartered in Southern California, recently partnered with the nonprofit organization Once Upon A Room serving chronically ill children in need.
Once Upon a Room provides service to children in the hospital fighting serious, life threatening illnesses and are often in need of many months of medical care and extended inpatient treatment. Hospital stays are made easier through personalized hospital room decorating and custom designing. Additionally, Once Upon a Room hosts various events, families and patients can look forward to during their inpatient time.
The five week partnership included collaborations with many clients and A+E partners that participated in decorating patient rooms at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) while the children were inpatient. Patients were surprised with custom hospital rooms, including personalized decorations, bedding, pillows and accessories. Each room was designed with their favorite color and interests in mind, and the children were gifted the bedding, pillows and all accessories used in their room. Together with Once Upon a Room, Tangram held a puppet making event for the children in their downtown showroom. Other companies involved in the project included One Nine Architecture, Boulder Associates, Women in Health, Austin Commercial and ZGF.
“Tangram remains committed to a people-focused culture within and around the Tangram company and communities,” said Kellie Reed, Director, OC Sales and Healthcare for Tangram. “Partnerships and community are in everything Tangram does and we are at our strongest when we give back and lean in to serving places in need. Philanthropic commitment not only brings fulfillment, but it also creates a strong web – connecting different industries, people and organizations.”
“Once Upon a Room wants to express their gratitude for the Tangram partnership and the many amazing individuals we met throughout,” said Jenny Hull, Principal of Once Upon a Room . “It is always a humbling experience to meet like-minded organizations like Tangram who pride themselves on serving. We look forward to future collaborations!”
Throughout the years Tangram has donated to the Orangewood Foundation, Orange County Rescue Mission, The Samueli Academy, Susan G. Komen, The Boys and Girls Club and various organizations for underprivileged youth. Donations have included furniture, college scholarships and time.
