Meet Carryn Powers

Please join us in welcoming Carryn Powers to Tangram! She is joining the Tangram team as a Designer. When she's not in the office, you can find her lounging on the beach, hiking a trail, or learning new skills like pottery! She's looking forward to creating beautiful spaces and bringing her strong work ethic to the Tangram Team. Welcome, Carryn! We are thrilled to have you here at Tangram!

1. First, what is your name and job title?
Carryn Powers / Designer

2. Where is your hometown and where do you live now?
My hometown is Bakersfield, CA, and I currently live in San Diego.

3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?
My previous role was as a Junior Interior Designer at a design firm in San Clemente. Before that role I was a Foodservice Sales Representative for Pepsi.

4. What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
On the weekend I like to spend my time at the beach or on a hike, learning a new skill like pottery, or on a trip to visit friends and family.

5. When people visit your town, what are the top local spot(s) you recommend to them?
When people visit I always take them to Torrey Pines, Coronado, or Balboa Park. Some of my favorite restaurants are Mabel's Gone Fishing, Trattoria Cori Pastificio, and Born and Raised.

6. What's a topic you wish you knew more about or a skill you want to learn/improve?
I've taken a few pottery classes but would love to learn more.

7. Tell us about the best or most memorable meal you've cooked or eaten! What made it special?
One of my the best meals I've had was with my family for my 21st birthday at a small french restaurant in Paso Robles, they have a farm to table 5 course menu that changes with the seasons, its definitely a hidden gem on the central coast.

8. What is your favorite memory from the past year?
One of my favorite memories from last year was a trip to Joshua Tree with friends.

9. Show us your true colors! Which professional and/or college team(s) do you cheer for?
As an alum, I'll always cheer for the Cal Poly Mustangs!

10. What are you most looking forward to at Tangram and what do you hope to bring to the team?
I'm looking forward to creating thoughtful and beautiful spaces, and I hope to bring a strong work ethic and positive energy to the team.
