Tangram Ten // Robert Reynoso

Please join us in welcoming Robert Reynoso to Tangram! Robert is joining the team as a Project Manager for the Light Construction division, bringing prior experience as a construction subcontractor. This San Diego native can’t find himself away from the sun or sea, recently traveling to Ecuador and enjoying lobster whenever he can. However, there was the time Robert was in a deckhand in Alaska— you may want to ask him more about that when you meet him. His enthusiasm and past experience will make him a wonderful addition to the team. Welcome, Robert, we’re happy to have you!

2. Where is your hometown?

Born and raised in San Diego, CA

3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?

Construction subcontractor that specializes in commercial drywall and metal studs. My role there was to manage a project for them as a job site foreman.

4. What is something you recently crossed off your bucket list?

Visit and explore Ecuador with my wife on vacation

5. How would you describe your favorite food to someone who’s never had it before?

My favorite food is grilled lobster tail that is caught in the ocean and then steamed in boiling water until cooked, cut in half to be grilled on the BBQ, taken out of the shell with a fork from the back of the tail to the front to remove whole, then severed with melted butter poured all over. Delicious!

6. If you could have lunch with someone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO and owner of my favorite basketball team, Los Angeles Clippers. I would love to talk with him about roster moves for the team that would bring a championship season. Also, I would like to discuss with him about the ideals used to created and develop his Microsoft team, and what kind of interpersonal skills he used to communicate with his team, which made him successful CEO of Microsoft.

7. What are you most looking forward to in your new role at Tangram?

I am most looking forward to developing a good working relationship with the company personnel and taking on new challenges every day to improve my personal growth.

8. What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

When I was 20 years old, I went to work in Alaska, and one of my many dangerous jobs was working on a commercial salmon fishing boat as a deckhand. I worked with a team of three deckhands on the boat to bring in the salmon with a huge net, usually in the middle of storms. I would have to hang onto the ropes of the net to keep from falling overboard while also bringing in the led rings with the Captain screaming at me to let go of the rope.

9. How many donuts are you capable of eating in one sitting?

I am capable of eating ½ dozen donuts.

10. What do you hope to bring to the Tangram team?

I hope to bring my enthusiasm for learning something new every day and my experience in construction to help develop the light construction division.
